Elementary Kids

This area is for kids that are in 1st – 6th grade. Our elementary kids meet in the main gym for a fun and dynamic large group meeting time, and then break up into small groups based on grade levels. The large group time is filled with worship, games and a Bible lesson taught through various means including media, skits, fun characters, object lessons and some puppets now and then. The small group time is lead by an adult Lead Teacher and gives kids a chance to discuss the lesson they just participated in during the large group time. The group time is filled with age/grade appropriate life application questions and activities. The gym gets pretty loud at times, but that’s when you know where learning and having a great time doing it!

The first Sunday of every month the elementary kids (1st – 6th grade), participate with the adults in Gateway’s main worship service. We believe this offers children at a young age the opportunity to see and experience corporate worship and more importantly for kids to watch and learn from their parents as they worship. So on the first Sunday of the month, only the B12’s and preschool areas of Kidztown are up and running. This way families can be in worship together and we think that is a cool thing!

Breakout Bible Study for 5th and 6th Graders

On Wednesday nights during the school year, we have a Bible Study for kids in 5th and 6th grades called Breakout. They have a lot of fun, learn about the Bible, and have fun activities such as pizza parties and ice cream socials. They meet in the Arcola Community Center from 7pm to 8:30pm.
