Week Twelve-Day One: End of Day
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7
This morning we said the face of Jesus is the face of love. This is an awesome and overwhelming truth, but we can get even closer to home. Our face is also the face of love – at least it can be … or should be.
According to 1 John 3:16, “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for one another.” So what Jesus did for us, we do for one another. Jesus is what he is for us, at least in part, by being what he is through one another. We are the face of love.
- Think back over your day.Were there times when you were the face of love for someone?Thank God for showing Himself through you.Were there times when you were decidedly not the face of God?Ask Him to forgive you.
