Week Sixteen-Day Two: End of Day

Let’s end today by listening to the notes from the “Life Recovery Bible” on Psalm 8.[1]

“We develop our sense of self-perception by noticing how the important people in our life see us. If we grew up in a dysfunctional family, their skewed view of us probably warped our ability to see ourself as we truly are in God’s eyes. Understanding how God sees us and the value he has placed on us can help us overcome the negative self-perception that many of us have developed.

“God wants us to realize how precious we are to him and to see ourself in the light of his love. Consider this: if God considered us worthy of giving up the most precious thing he had (his only Son), what does that say about how valuable we are to him?”

  1. Spend a moment reviewing Psalm 8:1-2.

1 LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
in the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold against your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

  1. Survey your day.Was God stirring around you in ways that you now need to recognize?
  2. End your day by praying this: “Guide us waking, O Lord, and guard us sleeping; that awake we may watch with Christ, and asleep we may rest in peace.”
  3. Lights out!
