Week Seventeen-Day Two: End of Day
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”
Romans 8:16
The testimony Paul describes is a testimony we desperately need to hear, don’t you think? We need to hear the Spirit tell our spirit that we really are God’s children.
Let’s try an exercise tonight before we go to sleep.
- Make sure you are alone without interruption and in a quiet place.
- Close your eyes and imagine yourself in your favorite, most restful place – your den, the beach, the mountains …Imagine the scene.Imagine the sounds.Really place yourself there.
- Ask God to speak to you.Ask Him to tell you who you really are.
- Be still and listen for His voice or for an interruption to your own thinking process.
- After a time, ask other questions if you have any.
- Then thank God whether you experienced His presence or not.
Lights out!
