"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Hebrews 12:1-3
1. There is a race marked out for us
When we run toward a goal -- or in a manner -- other than what we were designed for, we feel the weight of aimlessness and purposelessness in our hearts.
2. There is a race marked out for us, but we will not finish unless we run with perserverance.
Running our race casually iwth an eye out for maximizing our eaze is not an option.
3. Finishing our race will require that we practice subtraction
We need to shed anything that hinders us from running the race.
