What does God's voice sound like? How does God speak to us today? Today, we'll look at the characteristics of God's voice.

When God speaks, He speaks:

Personally

He speaks in a way that we, individually, can understand.

Progressively

He doesn't give us everything at once. He slowly unfolds His message to us.

Purposefully

God has a reason when He speaks. Three reasons why God speaks to us are:

1. To reveal His character
2. To reveal His will
3. To further His will

Powerfully

When God speaks, He speaks authoritatively and with a recognizable power.

Simply

God speaks to us clearly, in a way that we know what He is saying.

Self-consistently

He speaks in a way that is consistent with Himself and with what He has said before.

Specifically

God often speaks very specifically to us.
