Sermon Outline: Four Reasons that we don't hear God
1. We really don't want to hear from God
It often may be costly or may be something that we don't want to hear.
Examples from the Bible include Jonah (he didn't want to hear about God's mercy on Ninevah).
2. We don't have the right mindset
We are operating out of a western world view. We look for what is measurable, observable, and repeatable and think that is all there is. We often read the Bible to learn about God and not necessarily to hear from God.
3. Spiritual Warfare
In Daniel 10:10-13, the angel tells Daniel that he was delayed by a demon (the Prince of the Persian Kingdom).
4. We're in too much of a hurry
We need to wait for God. See Psalm 37:7, Proverbs 20:22, Isaiah 30:18, Hosea 10:12-15. God has made us for a love relationship with Him.
