Sermon Outline

1 John 4:7-21 

The love of God moves us to love one another.

1. (vv. 7-12) The source of love: Love comes from God. He loved us first and he showed us His love by sending His Son to die for us.
2. (vv.13-15) The work of love: God takes up residence in us. We come to believe in Him and so enter into relationship with Him.
3. (vv.16-18) The result of love: We serve others and so are like Jesus. Then we live with absolute spiritual confidence.
4. (vv.19-21) The summary: Our love is the effect; God's love is the cause.

• Our love of Him

Application

1. Join a home fellowship.
2. Act lovingly toward one another.
3. Invent ways to serve one another.
4. Eat MEALs daily.

Move to resolve conflict quickly.
Expect God to show you things about yourself.
Accept God's guidance in your relationships.
Love someone.
