Sermon Outline
We take our toys very seriously and the toy industry knows it.
"It" doesn't satisfy
Why do we still pursue "It?"
- At a superficial level, because of advertising.
- At a deeper level, because we really do believe that "It" can satisfy us.
Why does "It" not satisfy?
Matthew 6:19-21
19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- "It" is impermanent
- "It" is fragile
- We were made for more that "It"
Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - "It" leads to a dead end
"It" isn't satisfying but Jesus is.
How do we find our satisfaction in Jesus?
- Start by admitting
- Move to repentance
