Today's Passage: Galatians 3
If you are a Christian, your identity has changed!
- You are now a person who really understands that spiritual life comes to you as a gift.
- Ephesians 2:8-9
- Spiritual life begins in grace and continues in grace at every point along the way.
- We can't get there through jumping through certain religious hoops or through our own efforts. Spiritual life is a gift from God.
- You are now a person for whom the weight of the evidence plus your own internal experience of something larger than yourself has led you to exercise faith in what God has done through Christ. You are a believer!
- You are now a beneficiary of God's activity. God is working in your life, in your circumstances and toward your future.
- The demonstration of the Spirit's presence in the lives of the Galatians came before they were even taught about the Law, not as a result of following the Law.
- God did not give us the Law to inspire great effort. He gave us teh Law to inspire us to greater dependence on Him.
- Finally, we are united with Christ and with one another. So we live without regard to human barriers and categories.
- v.28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
